Adam Horovitz is probably best known as one-third of the Beastie Boys (Ad-Rock), but also has a role in the new Noah Baumbach film, While We’re Young. And, like any good actor or musician promoting a new endeavor, he is making the rounds of interviews and promotional appearances.

His professional obligation is our gain, as he signed on for the latest edition of Rookie Mag’s Ask a Grown Man. In the iconic video series, where some of our favorite grown men have cemented themselves as role models, Horovitz gives some solid advice about first kisses, break ups, and romantic insecurities.
“Boys are, for the most part, not very observant or all together smart,” Horovitz reveals before promoting communication between a young couple.
Perhaps the biggest question comes from a young woman who battles feeling down or defeated, to which Horovitz lets her know that she isn’t alone, that everyone gets down in some way.
